Lee Hurst, 360TENNIS Director & Founder
Lee Hurst has been a top coach in the New York metropolitan area over the past decade. Since March of 2010, he helped launch the new player development program at the USTA Training Center East alongside Tim Mayotte. Lee, who has developed and worked with top players such as Jana Kandarr (GER), Esat Tanik (TUR), Sanjin Sadovich (CAN), Kristie Ahn (USA), brought his extensive experience in training players through all stages of development to the newest USTA training Center as a direct hire by Jose Higueras.
Lee came to the U.S. in November 1989 from the UK, and after a 6 month internship at Nick Bolletieri’s and Saddlebrook, he began his professional training as a practice partner and fitness coach with top 100 ATP players such as Jimmy Brown (top 50ATP), Ramesh Krishnan (top 20ATP) Chris Garner (top 80ATP) and Kelly Evernden (top 20ATP) in Tampa, Florida. Over the next several years Lee made the transition into coaching full time and worked with Professional, ITF and National players as the Co-Director of Matchpoint Tennis Academy.
In 1998, Lee moved to Northern NJ establishing 360TENNIS where he began to focus on Junior development. 360TENNIS became one of the premier specialty development programs in the North-East, producing dozens of Sectional and National Champions, as well as winning several professional titles. Many of his students went on to play at colleges such as Georgia Tech, Stanford, UCLA, Princeton and also attained ATP/WTA/ITF rankings. In 2005 Lee was privately contracted as a coach for a small group of ATP players based in Florida, after which he returned to New Jersey and resumed 360TENNIS.
Lee has been accredited by the LTA in London, England, is certified as a USPTR/USPTA Pro1 and is a U.S. High Performance graduate. Lee played at the Professional level in the U.S., Europe and Asia and competed in professional club tennis in Hanover, Germany. He also co-hosted Tennis Talk, a sports radio show in Tampa Bay, FL.
